The Volkswagen GT-Rocket is a Special Edition of the Polo-hatch that for now only is available in Germany with prices from 16,875 Euros. The Polo GT-Rocket is limited to four different colors, being candy white, silver, black and metallic orange. Exterior upgrades includes 17-inch alloy wheels, a roof spoiler, darkened headlamps and a sport suspension. Supported by VW’s petrol and TDI diesel engine range, the Polo GT-Rocket can produce up to 130Hp (TDI).

The new Mazda Biante will go on sale in Japan later this summer. This eight-seat minivan has been exclusively developed for the Japanese market with the name Biante being inspired by the English word ‘ambient’. According to Mazda, the Biante aims to to create a unified interior space that makes the in-car experience enjoyable and comfortable for all its occupants.

For the Peugeot 4007 comes the new Irmscher Sport Pack including Aero Star Design 19-inch alloys on Pirelli 235/45 x R19 tires, rear roof and front lower spoilers and twin tailpipe finishers. The price starts at £600 in the UK and according to Peugeot the parts are worth  £2,950.

In testing today at Germany’s Nurburgring, Cadillac’s upcoming new 2009 CTS-V completed a lap of the legendary Nordschleife in 7:59.32. This blistering time appears to be the fastest ever publicly documented for a production sedan.

Cadillac is nearing the completion of testing for the highly anticipated CTS-V, the limited-edition high-performance model based on the award-winning CTS sport sedan. John Heinricy, GM Performance Division executive and an acclaimed racing driver, piloted the CTS-V through its sub-8 minute lap. The car itself had no performance modifications outside of those planned for consumer production, which is scheduled to begin this fall.

Estimated at 550-hp, the CTS-V is at the moment going through the final stages of intensive testing and development. One of the realistic objectives of the Cadillac team is to make the CTS-V the world’s fastest production sedan, as a part of the overall goal to make the V-Series Cadillac’s ultimate expression of performance and technology. More updates will be released in the coming weeks as testing is finalized, including the car’s certified SAE power ratings, acceleration specifications and U.S.-market pricing.

While there’s no single official repository for Nurburgring data from private test sessions, numerous reputable websites and publications report lap times from race teams, automakers and independent sources.

The new 2009 CTS-V includes a suite of advanced performance technologies, including a new version of Cadillac’s acclaimed Magnetic Ride Control suspension and the LSA 6.2-liter Supercharged V8 engine. For the first time, CTS-V will include the choice of 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions, with the new automatic sporting steering wheel-mounted shift buttons.

At this year’s 2008 Busan International Show, Korean manufacturer Hyundai uncovered the highly anticipated Genesis Coupe. Domestic sales will begin in September with a gradual expansion to other regions including the U.S. and China. The Genesis Coupe will be offered with a 215Hp 2.0-liter Turbo and 303Hp 3.8-liter V6 engine.

Coming to the UK in August, the V70 R-Design is just as practical and safe as any Volvo model, except that it has received some mechanical and stylish upgrades. The V70 R-Design features a 20mm lowered sport chassis at the front and 15mm at the rear, stiffer anti-roll bars and more responsive steering. Exterior upgrades include 18-inch rims, a silk metal finish grille and chromed exhaust pipes. German tuning house AC Schnitzer has uncovered their Sport Package for the BMW 1-Series Cabriolet with both engine and styling upgrades. The 135’s output was boosted from 306 to 360Hp, the 120D’s from 177 to 200Hp and the 123D’s from 204 to 240Hp (includes optional sport suspension or height adjustable racing suspension). Styling upgrades includes new front and rear spoilers, sport exterior mirrors, 17 or 19-inch alloys and interior carbon fiber trim.
